Barry Magrill is an architectural historian focusing on the Victorian architecture and the emergence of the book as a form of idea transmission in the early modern era. A practicing artist engaged in painting and drawing, he studies historical techniques, conservation and forgery. The two are combined in his interest of the architecture of television production sets and the mythology of the 1950s nuclear family.
