Official Contest Rules and Regulations
Participation in the Career Day 2017 GoPro Giveaway Contest (the "Contest") constitutes the entrant's full and unconditional agreement with and acceptance of these Official Contest Rules and Regulations (“Official Rules”) and all decisions of Kwantlen Polytechnic University (“Kwantlen” or the “Sponsor”) and its agents, which are final on all matters relating to the Contest.
1. ELIGIBILITY
Entrants must be a current KPU student, or KPU alumni, and resident of BC. Faculty and staff of KPU are not eligible. All provincial, municipal and federal laws and regulations apply.
2. HOW TO ENTER
To enter, entrants must obtain an entry ballot at the Career Services booth at in the Gymnasium at KPU Surrey Cedar Building, 12666 72 Avenue, during Career Day, Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 11am-3pm and complete the ballot as required. Completed ballots shall be returned to the Career Services booth by 3pm on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 to receive one (1) entry into the Contest. Maximum one (1) entry per person.
3. WINNER SELECTION
One (1) entry will be randomly drawn from all eligible available entries at Career Day 2017 held in the Gymnasium, Cedar Building, KPU Surrey campus, 12666 72 Avenue, Surrey, at 5:00pm on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 (the “Contest Draw”).
Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
4. PRIZE CLAIM CONDITIONS
The person named on the entry drawn pursuant to the Contest Draw (the “selected entrant”) will be notified by phone call and through Career Services social media channels, and the Career Day website on Thursday, March 9, 2017 following the Contest Draw. The name of the selected entrant will be made public.
Photo Identification is required.
In order to claim his/her Prize the selected entrant must present his or herself, with valid photo identification at the Career Services Office located in room 136, Surrey Main Building, 12666 72 Avenue, Surrey on or before Wednesday, March 15 at 12pm, PST. Before being declared a “Winner” and being awarded the Prize, the Winner must first correctly answer without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question to be administered at the time the selected individual presents his/herself at the Career Services Office. The winners will also be required to complete a written declaration and prize release form, releasing the Sponsor and all of their respective directors, officers, owners, partners, shareholders, employees, agents, representatives, successors and assigns from any liability in connection with the Contest or the use or misuse or possession of any Prize. Return of winner notification as undeliverable, inability to reach the selected entrant, failure to provide proof of eligibility, release documents, or other required documentation (if requested) in a timely manner, failure to correctly answer the skill-testing question, or other non-compliance with these Official Rules may result in disqualification, forfeiture of the Prize and, at Sponsor’s sole discretion, selection of an alternate selected entrant for the forfeited Prize, who will be subject to disqualification in the same manner.
5. DEADLINES
Contest begins on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 11:00am PST and ends on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 3:00pm PST.
6. PRIZING
There is one (1) prize to be awarded in connection with the Contest. Subject to the Prize Claim Conditions outlined above, the selected entrant will be awarded the following prize (the “Prize”):
1x GoPro Camera, $350
Total approximate value of the Prize: $350
No cash substitutions. GoPro is not a participant in or sponsor of this promotion.
7. PERSONAL INFORMATION
Kwantlen and its authorized agents will collect, use and disclose the personal information you provide when you enter the Contest for the purposes of administering the Contest and Prize fulfillment.

By entering the Contest, you authorize Kwantlen Polytechnic University and its advertising and promotional agencies and their respective employees or other representatives, to broadcast, publish and otherwise use your name, photograph, image, statements regarding the Contest and/or the Prize, and (or) voice for publicity purposes relating to the Contest, without any form of remuneration, approval or notice. The name and photo of the selected entrant will be published on the Career Services social media channels, and the Career Day website.
8. RELEASE
By entering this Contest, you agree to indemnify, release and hold harmless, Kwantlen Polytechnic University, its employees and its agents from and against any losses, damages, rights, claim or cause of action of any kind arising, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, out of your breach of the Official Rules, use of the Prize or otherwise resulting from your participating in the Contest.
9. MISCELLANEOUS
Kwantlen Polytechnic University reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or modify the Contest if fraud, technical failures, or anyone’s actions destroys the integrity of the Contest, or if factors beyond the Sponsor’s control make it impossible for the Sponsor to administer this Contest as planned. Entrants who have not complied with these Official Rules are subject to disqualification. The Prize is not transferable and must be accepted as awarded with no substitutions in cash or otherwise, except at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute an alternate prize of equivalent or greater value if a Prize cannot be awarded as described. The Prize will only awarded pursuant to the Prize Claim Conditions outlined above. By entering this Contest, you agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor. All decisions of the Sponsor and/or Committee are final and binding in all matters relating to this Contest.
