The CELBAN is now recognized by the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia and the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of British Columbia.

What are the advantages of CELBAN?

  • Content of CELBAN is based on the language used in the nursing profession.
  • In addition to scores in each of the four language skills, candidates receive feedback about their strengths and weaknesses in speaking and writing.
  • The speaking assessment is a live interview with two trained Assessors.

    Who can take the CELBAN?

The CELBAN is designed for candidates who are internationally educated nurses who need to meet the English language requirements of the nursing regulatory bodies in Canada.

There are no formal language eligibility requirements.
