Richmond Campus refurbishment: phase 2
Omicron Construction has been awarded the refurbishment contract for phase 2. Following the relocation of all the affected services, Omicron has worked aggressively to meet the challenging schedule, so far excellent progress has been made.
November 2013
Roof:
- Sheet metal connectors between smoke extraction fans and skylights in progress
Main Floor Circular Atrium:
- Re-polishing of the entire main floor circular atrium completed
Second & Third Floor Circular Atrium:
- Installation of wood caps of curved railing in progress
- Installation of metal-perforated panels in progress
Rectangular atrium:
- Installation of MDF trims in preparation for the fabric in progress
Others:
- Painting of Cafeteria walls completed

Two-weeks Look Ahead:
Main Floor Offices:
- Install metal-perforated panels and stainless steel bases
- Install wood ceiling tiles
- Work on deficiencies
Roof:
- Continue sheet metal ductwork for the smoke fans
- Complete the connection of the power for the smoke fans
Main Floor Circular Atrium:
- Install stainless steel bases
- Complete floor patch and transitions in KSA
- Install window vents in south entrance and west entrance
- Install wood ceiling tiles in Lounge 1000
- Complete patch of concrete floor around expansion joint in front of Tim Horton’s
Second & Third Floor Circular Atrium:
- Continue install of metal-perforated panels and stainless steel bases
- Install Forbo wall panels
- Complete the millwork for the curved railing
Rectangular Atrium:
- Install fabric panels in the third floor
- Install window vents in north entrance
Student Lounge 3850:
- Install metal-perforated panels and stainless steel bases
- Install Forbo wall panels
- Install wood ceiling tiles
