I have been a full-time faculty member of Kwantlen’s English Department since 1991. I moved here from Calgary, where I had taught at Mount Royal U and The U of Calgary. My main interest is in Postcolonial Studies. The anthology Literature for Our Times: Postcolonial Studies in the Twenty-First Century, co-edited by Bill Ashcroft, myself, Julie McGonegal, and Arun Mukherjee (Netherlands: Rodopi, 2012. 665 pp.), originated in an international conference of the Association for Commonwealth Literature and Language Studies, of which I was Chair and conference organizer (2004-2007). I served also as President of its Canadian branch (2002-2005). The born-digital, open-access, refereed journal Postcolonial Text (http://postcolonial.orgwas co-founded by me and John Willinsky of the Public Knowledge Project in 2003, and I served as its Managing Editor and Associate Editor till 2013. I learned a great deal by developing this web journal, and now I enjoy teaching online.
