Safety Plans

KPU’s COVID-19 safety plans use an appropriate mix of the four recommended levels of protection: elimination, engineering controls, administrative controls and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Examples within the four levels of protection include:

  • Elimination – Using physical distancing and reducing prolonged close contact
  • Engineering controls – Using physical barriers like plexiglass
  • Administrative controls – Cleaning protocols, hand sanitizer stations and one-way corridors
  • PPE – gloves and non-medical masks

Safety plans at KPU align with the COVID-19 Go-Forward Guidelines for B.C.’s Post-Secondary Sector. As the COVID-19 pandemic evolves so does our understanding of the virus and how best to mitigate its spread. As a result, KPU will continuously update documentation and safety plans as new information comes to light and new guidelines are received and implemented.
