We at Kwantlen Polytechnic University respectfully acknowledge that we live, work and study in a region that overlaps with the unceded traditional and ancestral First Nations territories of the Musqueam, Katzie, Semiahmoo, Tsawwassen, Qayqayt, and Kwikwetlem, and with the lands of the Kwantlen First Nation, which gifted its name to this university.
At The Learning Centre our mission is to provide support to KPU students in their learning journey. We provide student skill development through one-on-one Peer tutoring, Academic Skills Workshops, and Learning Strategist consultation. We train our tutors to equip them with skills and strategies needed to effectively support student academic skill development and encourage independent learning. We also offer learning resources for study skill development and learning, such strategies for communication, time management, navigating technology, and much more.
The Learning Centre collaborates with faculty to develop workshops to help improve student learning and retention. We offer special programs to support student success. KPU100 focuses on starting University on the right track, KPU101 uses positive psychology to encourage holistic learning and balancing life, and Academic Boost Camp is designed to provide practical support to students who have experienced setback in their studies.
