Kwantlen opens Langley Community Farmers Market


(LANGLEY, B.C.) Kwantlen Polytechnic University, the Langley Community Farmers Market Society (LCFMS), the City of Langley and the Township of Langley announced the grand opening of The Langley Community Farmers Market.

The market runs each Wednesday, from July 8 to October 7, 3pm to 7pm at Kwantlen's Langley Campus, Glover Road parking lot. Community members can visit with more than 30 vendors each week selling fresh produce, eggs, berries, honey, plants, herbs, cheese, preserves, seafood and meat. Live entertainment, various artisan stalls and non-profit groups will also be in attendance. The market offers limited free parking and promises fun for the whole family. Enjoy fresh food; directly from the people who produce it.

LCFMS is a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is:

1. To contribute to the economic viability of local farms, cottage industries and small businesses that make, bake or grow their products.

2. To operate a market that creates opportunities for these producers and customers to interact with each other.

3. To offer opportunities for public education in related areas such as nutrition, sustainable agriculture, the local economy, the environment.

Kwantlen Polytechnic University brings with it a tradition of providing access pathways for students with different talents and abilities, and opportunities for all who are willing to work hard to realize their goals. Key to Kwantlen’s new mandate is an enhanced capacity to integrate research and external community engagement within a learning environment that places students at the centre of all that the university does.
