Sodexo feeds Kwantlen students who hunger for education
(METRO VANCOUVER, B.C.) On February 7, 2011 Sodexo Canada presented a $100,000 donation to Kwantlen Polytechnic University in support of financial awards for students. Sodexo’s contribution will support three annual awards for Kwantlen students over the next ten years. As the current on-campus food service provider for Kwantlen’s four campuses, Sodexo has been remarkable with their commitment to customer service, food selection and student support.
The awards funded by Sodexo support three aspects of Kwantlen students’ experiences. The first award, valued at $5,000 will recognize a student pursuing a degree in any area of study at Kwantlen who achieves academic excellence and participates actively in the community. The second award will be offered in the form of a $2,500 bursary to a student experiencing significant financial need. Finally, the third award, valued at $2,500 will be available to a student who demonstrates community involvement and volunteerism.
“We wish to support a broad range of students,” Raymond Lee, Sodexo Canada, vice-president for BC and Alberta explains, “These awards achieve that with several different criteria, from academic achievement to leadership.”
Sodexo continues to amass national and international awards and accolades such as, one of Canada’s most ethical companies for the second year, one of Fortune Magazines most admired companies, and a 2011 Canadian top employer.
Both Sodexo and Kwantlen continue to achieve success by remaining committed to enhancing the quality of life for those around them.
