SURREY, BC – (April 20, 2011) – Kwantlen Polytechnic University's Foundation received a $1,500 contribution toward their endowment fund from the Rotary Club of Richmond Sunset. The fund supports a student in a Faculty of Humanities program and will provide an award in the amount of $1,000 to a resident or graduate of a Richmond secondary school.

"We are committed to supporting education in the community," stated James Westmacott, president of the Rotary Club of Richmond Sunset. "We feel strongly that supporting students pursuing their education at Kwantlen leads to a more vibrant business community."

This contribution from the Rotary Club of Richmond Sunset recognizes and reaffirms Kwantlen's long-term partnership with the club.

"Rotary has long been an ardent supporter of Kwantlen and continuously demonstrates the value they place on education," commented Jeff Norris, chief advancement officer. "We are very proud of the commitment the Richmond Sunset Rotary club has made to our University."

The Kwantlen Foundation was established in 2000 and raises funds in support of the University's students, projects and programs.
