(Metro Vancouver, BC) - Members of Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s Board of Governors re-elected Gord Schoberg and Amrik Virk as chair and vice chair respectively on Wednesday June 20, 2012.

Schoberg was appointed to the Board of Governors on July 31, 2008. Since 1996 Schoberg has called Surrey home, with his three grown children and seven grandchildren all living within a 45 minute drive. When he’s not in the office, he can be found on a golf course, at the gym, playing squash, dining with family and friends, or travelling. Schoberg’s term on the board ends July 31, 2014.

Virk, vice chair, was appointed to the Board of Governors on July 31, 2008, and will complete his term in office July 31, 2013. He has been a member of the Advisory Panel with the Community Outreach Advisory Board of Simon Fraser University (Surrey Campus), and a director with the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police, Law Enforcement, and Diversity Network.

Virk holds a bachelor of arts in economics from SFU. He is married with three children, and also has a black belt in karate.
