Abbotsford Heat/KPU Eagles Athletes of the Week - January 26, 2014

Metro Vancouver, BC … Obi Udevi, men’s basketball and Shilpa Khanna, women’s basketball, are the Abbotsford Heat/KPU Eagles Athletes of the Week, for the week ending January 26, 2014. 

Udevi, a rookie from Surrey, BC, scored 26 points on the weekend, including 14 points against Capilano University Blues on Friday night.  The guard also recorded 8 total rebounds and 7 steals in the two games at the Eagles’ Nest.  KPU fell to Capilano, 89-62, on Friday and to Quest, 94-64 on Saturday.  KPU is currently tied for 7th place in PACWEST with a 2-12 record.          

The women were led by Khanna, a rookie guard from Surrey, BC, with 24 point weekend, including games highs both nights of nine against Capilano and 15 versus Quest.  Shilpa recorded eight steals over the weekend while logging over 30 minutes both nights on the court. KPU lost to Capilano on Friday, 88-40 and to Quest on Saturday, 66-57, they are in 7th place at 4-10, one game behind 6th place Langara College Falcons at 5-9.
