Presentation by Artist Takeshi Shimizu
KPU students, faculty and members of the KPU community learned about Japanese culture through Tanba Pottery (Tanbayaki). Mr. Takeshi Shimizu explained the history of Tanbayaki, its relationship to the Japanese way of thinking and its influence on pottery around the world. The event included a short demonstration and display of the artist’s work.
This event was being presented by the Consulate General of Japan in Association with Kwantlen Polytechnic University Fine Arts and Asian Studies.
