I met Dr. Paul Adams through my involvement with the WestGen Endowment Fund and learned of AGC’s research work with Mycoplasma bovis. Since I had several dairy clients struggling with Mycoplasma bovis infections in their herds, I was able to utilize the herd screening and individual animal qPCR testing protocols that KPU had developed to effectively diagnose and initiate the control of this disease. Through our collaboration with KPU, we have learned a great deal about Mycoplasma bovis and have been able to assist a number of dairy herds in minimizing the losses from this disease through rapid diagnosis and the establishment of effective control programs. The wonderful open line of communication and rapid release of diagnostic results have been greatly appreciated both by myself as a veterinarian and our clients.
