Job Description

Sunshine Woods Golf Centre is a beautiful 25.5 acre, 18-hole par-3 facility with a full-sized driving range and a newly constructed clubhouse soon to open this coming spring.  We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Golf Course Superintendent to join our team.  The ideal candidate will have a passion for golf, golf course management and turf maintenance along with strong leadership and organizational skills.  This is a great opportunity for a current Assistant or Second Assistant Superintendent looking to take that next step in their career and join a passionate, caring ownership group that loves the game of golf. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee daily golf course maintenance operations, including turf, irrigation, and landscape management
  • Supervise and train grounds staff to ensure high-quality standards are consistently met Manage course equipment, supplies, and maintenance budgets
  • Develop and implement agronomic plans, including fertilization, pest control, and water management programs
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with management to plan for course improvements and special events

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Golf Course Superintendent, Assistant or Second Assistant Superintendent
  • Strong knowledge of turfgrass management
  • Rainbird irrigation knowledge an asset
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate a small maintenance team
  • Certification in turf management or a related field (preferred but not required)
  • Pesticide applicators license or willing to obtain

Position Details:  

Start Date -  As soon as possible 

Employment Type - Full-Time year round 

Salary -  $70-80K dependent on experience (put a number here. No number always means it’s a low ball) 

Clothing Allowance - Any clothing allowance? This is typically about $500 a year or so.

Association Dues - Most courses will pay for association dues (BCGSA / CGSA) 

Continuing Education - All courses will send their Superintendent to 1 or more conferences during conference season (November - February). 

Vacation - How much vacation? 3-4 weeks paid vacation is standard in the industry.
