My experience with the SRIG program has been invaluable in developing both my research skills and my career path. The funding allowed me to recruit participants on Prolific and run a fully powered study that would not have been possible otherwise. Importantly, it also gave me the chance to conduct a follow-up study, which helped confirm and refine my initial results. Beyond the data, the program has given me firsthand experience in designing, executing, and completing an independent research project, from preregistration through to analysis and dissemination. I have been able to present my findings at student research conferences and am preparing a manuscript for publication. Most importantly, this project has given me confidence as a researcher and helped me see how academic work can connect to real-world clinical issues. The SRIG program supported not only the completion of my honours thesis but also my growth as an early-career researcher, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity.
