The Student Research and Innovation Grant program (SRIG) was a remarkable experience that empowered me to develop my capstone to its full potential within the time restraints of the program. Throughout the development of my collection, financial support from the program enabled the sourcing of key resources and materials to elevate the research project without financial restraints when accessing costly textiles and equipment. The support from the SRIG is what fueled my success and allowed for personal and professional research experiences while adding creditability to capstone research and experimentation. I am extremely grateful for the support of KPU, RAD, faculty and peers, and my advisor Lesley Pollard. I have gratitude for the insight and recognition I have received throughout the completion of my capstone. The experience from the program has permanently changed my mindset and the process in how I experiment and create, fueling my inspiration to design and innovate sustainably. The SRIG program has had a significant impact on the development of my career within the fashion industry.
