Ishan V., Biology
The SRIG program has been instrumental in enabling me to attend ABRCMS this year and represent not only myself but also KPU at the conference. I also had the opportunity to present my poster at the KPU 2025 Research Showcase, raising awareness about the potential effects of COVID-19 in space and proposing preliminary guidelines for managing its risks. This experience allowed me to contribute meaningfully to the field of science and share my research with a wider audience. More importantly, the program kept me motivated throughout the demanding process of data extraction and analysis during my honours thesis. Knowing that I would one day be able to present my work publicly gave me the drive to push through the challenges. In addition, my work is currently in pre-publication at BioRxiv. The pre-print manuscript is also currently being reorganized for final publication in the Journal of Medical Internet Research – Biology (JMIRx-Bio). I highly recommend the SRIG program and the honours thesis course to any student interested in research or looking for a meaningful academic challenge. It’s not easy, but the reward of learning something new and having the opportunity to share it with the world is truly unmatched.
