My experience with the SRIG program has been incredibly positive. The application process was straightforward and clear to follow. It provided a good structure for my project and what I hoped to achieve with funding. When receiving the funding, I was overjoyed. I received the funding at the beginning of the Spring semester - a perfect time for starting the next phase of my project. The SRIG funding allowed me to travel to South Africa where I was able to conduct field research and testing in person. This made a huge difference to understanding the environment for which I was designing. During my field research, I had several breakthroughs that set the course for my prototyping phase. The SRIG program was incredibly supportive of this research and design project and allowed me to reach much more depth and understanding in my project than I would have otherwise.
