Megan H., Environmental Protection Technology
Participating in the SRIG program has been an incredibly rewarding experience. The grant allowed me to take on a project that combined my academic training with meaningful, community-based work alongside the Kwikwetlem First Nation. I gained hands-on experience in water quality sampling, laboratory analysis, and technical reporting, while also learning the importance of collaboration, cultural awareness, and adaptability in the field. The project strengthened my confidence as an emerging environmental professional and gave me a deeper appreciation for the value of applied research. I am grateful to SRIG for supporting this opportunity, which has not only enriched my education but also contributed useful information to an important local monitoring initiative.
