  1. Can I go and get help from the Learning Centres on all KPU campus?

You can get help form any of the Learning Centres but only the Cloverdale campus is fully equipped to help with Trades-specific resources. The other centres may be helpful for general learning strategies or math skills.

 

  • What are the services does KPU Tech Learning Centre provide?

    We provide one-on-one or group tutoring services. This includes review for tests and study materials.

 

  1. What is TutorOcean? 

  2. TutorOcean is our online tutoring platform, which enables students to access tutoring services online, one-on-one or in groups.

 

  1. How can I book a tutor? 

  2. For in-person you can drop in anytime 9AM-5PM on regular school days, unless specified, starting September. For more information about booking an online tutor, check the video out at: Online Tutoring for Trades Students.

  1. Can I book any math tutor when I need help with my trades math?

  2. It is recommended to book a trades-specific tutor because they are the ones who are able to help with trades-specific math.

 

  1. Do I really need study skills?

  2. Yes! Every student does. Honing your study skills will help you to be a better and more efficient student overall.

 

  1. What can a Learning Strategist do for me?/Why should I meet a Learning Strategist?

  1. It is helpful to meet with a learning strategist if you have trouble with school on a more general level than a specific module. For example, if you have exam anxiety or difficulty scheduling your time. A learning strategist would be the best person to help you with problems on that level.

 

  1. How can I make an appointment with a Learning Strategist?

  2. Please visit tlc.kpu.ca to make an appointment with a learning strategist. 

 

  1. How many tutoring sessions can I have on TutorOcean and can I get more? 

  2. You can have up to 2 hours a week on TutorOcean, with a combination of 1 hour or 30 minute sessions. You can contact us if you would like to have more time.

 

  1. Can I get face to face tutoring?

  2. Yes, once we resume in person services in the fall. Then, you will be able to drop by anytime between 9AM-5PM on regular weekdays, unless specified otherwise.
