Training Preparation
If you've been out of school for some time and your math, reading and study skills could use some sharpening, we offer courses to help you prepare for training.
Start by assessing your current math and reading skills. Based on your quiz results, we can suggest next steps. Then register in an orientation session that works with your schedule and in our math skills preparation course.

PREP 145: Orientation for Apprentices
PREP 145 is a free study skills course for apprentices — and the smartest six hours you'll spend at SAIT.
Discover your learning style, develop memory techniques, learn effective ways to conquer your modules, get tips on how to write multiple choice tests and prepare for your apprenticeship exam.
Note: Apprentices are required to take this course by the end of the first week of training.

Learning How to Learn for Trades and Technology Students
(This pilot program is for the Electrical Trades students only at present.)
Build your fundamental study skills and learning strategies with this free course for apprentices and foundation students that is attached to your program. This course includes 12 hours of in-class instruction offered over six weeks.
