Joseph holds a Doctor of Business Administration from the University of Liverpool, a Master’s degree in American economics, law and politics from the Chinese Culture University in Taiwan, a Bachelor’s degree (Hons, cum laude) in Economics from York University, and a Bachelor of Law Degree from the Soochow University in Taiwan.

Joseph began his teaching career as a Sessional Instructor at the University of Victoria in 2004 where he completed all coursework requirements and passed comprehensive exams of his doctorate in economics (ABD). He was a regular faculty at the Economics Department of Camosun College before he joined the economics department at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in January 2008. His teaching areas include Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics, Intermediate Microeconomics, Globalization in an Econ Framework, Industrial Organization, Law and Economics, Special topics in Economics (Corporate Social Responsibility) and Business Mathematics. His research interests include industrial organization, labour economics, law and economics, game theory and corporate social responsibility.

Joseph enjoys drinking tea, playing table tennis, cooking, reading and classical music.
