The Competency Assessment & Enhancement for Nurses (CAEN) is available for both Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs). Formerly PNCA 1000, the CAEN is designed for nurses who wish to update and/or enhance their nursing practice skills. The CAEN has 3 components; a self-assessment, an OSCE and multiple choice exam. The self-assessment will be completed during the online appointment. The individualized assessment of nursing knowledge and skills is done in a simulated nursing lab designed for particular needs. Once a seat is purchased, please email fohps@kpu.ca (including sponsored students) with a confirmation of your registration/receipt, to book an appointment and receive further instructions. Please do not show up at the office without a confirmed appointment.
