Consent and Healthy Relationships
Dive into one of the most important topics in today’s media and culture – sex! Consent and Healthy Relationships will teach the learner what is consent, how to ask for consent, and unpack why this topic has become so complicated. KPU is a community where thought meets action; where all KPU community members honouring all their relationships with a deeper understanding of consent and how to build and keep a healthy relationship.
Bystander Intervention
KPU is a community that looks out for each other. Learn real world strategies to step in to situations you notice that may be harmful for others. By the end of the workshop learners will be able to identify situations where community members may be in distress, identify how best to intervene, and learn strategies and wording to intervene into a situation and have it end with a positive result.
Receiving a Disclosure of Sexual Violence
KPU is dedicated to creating an supportive environment for all community members including Victims / Survivors of sexual violence and misconduct. How you support a Victim/ Survivor disclosing sexual violence will have a direct impact on their healing. One in five women and one in 71 men will be sexually assaulted at some point in their lives. Learn best practices of a Victim/Survivor-Centered; Trauma-Informed approach to receiving a disclosure of sexual violence.
