In 2017, I graduated from KPU with a Bachelor of Arts Double Minor (Geography and Anthropology).  My pursuit of this degree was not career-oriented, as I was already a perioperative nurse, but driven by my desire to obtain a university degree in subjects which interested me.  Kwantlen provided such a rich educational experience that I decided to continue my academic journey, and in June 2021 I will be graduating from SFU with a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies.  One of the most interesting projects I completed during my program was co-designing a Liberal Studies course, Theory and Aesthetics of Walking.  Regrettably, I was unable to attend a planned field school, on comparative urban sustainability, in Helsinki, Finland because of COVID-19 restrictions.

The Liberal Studies program at SFU gave me an opportunity to reflect upon my life and I have decided to twin my experience as a nurse with my interest in theology and will be enrolling in Pastoral Studies at St. Marks’ College, UBC in 2022.  My goal is to facilitate spiritual care needs in both palliative and critical care settings.  Look for what energizes you and then honour the path that life takes you on.
