Program Highlights
Entrepreneurial Leadership
Graduates of the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Entrepreneurial Leadership program are entrepreneurial thinkers who create value for their organizations, and their world, by finding innovative ways to solve problems and add value in a sustainable way. Some of them change the world by creating new organizations in many different sectors. Others find an organization that they really admire and then join the leadership team there to continue to make great things happen.
KPU’s Entrepreneurial Leadership (“ENTR”) Program has recently undergone a renewal process to modernize the curriculum for today’s learners. This is a student-focused program with a strong emphasis on sustainability and experiential learning. Students receiving their BBA in Entrepreneurial Leadership are prepared to manage, lead, and inspire in any organizational setting.
Extensive consultation was conducted with industry and alumni, and current ENTR students undertook a lead role in redesigning this program to ensure its appeal, applicability, and relevance in today’s world.
Many of the courses in the program are articulated with other universities and colleges for ease of course transferability to and from KPU. Please refer to the BC Transfer Guide at www.bctransferguide.ca regarding the transferability of courses to and from specific institutions in British Columbia.
ENTR students are creators and collaborators in their own education: they are empowered to change the world in the capacity most important to them: from entrepreneurial ventures to non-profit organizations.
Guiding Principles
The ENTR Program was designed to uphold and deliver on the following principles:
- Provide student flexibility with online, blended, and face to face course offerings
- Support students in charting their own learning journey with fewer pre-requisites and a wider range of courses available year-long
- Support student agency and individual choice through Universal Design for Learning (“UDL”) features which is a framework for creating flexible learning environments that provide multiple ways for students to engage, learn, and demonstrate their understanding
- Improve accessibility through extensive use of open educational resources (“OERs”) in ENTR courses, thereby reducing or eliminating the cost of all textbooks, labs, and other expenses incurred by students.
- Foster meaningful engagement and student development through open pedagogy learning activities and assessment

From Mina
My experience in the ENTR program at KPU played a foundational role in shaping how I think, work, and lead today. The program gave me a solid foundation in entrepreneurial thinking—teaching me how to identify opportunities, build ideas from the ground up, and lead projects with clarity and confidence. The hands-on courses, mentorship, and emphasis on real-world application helped me understand what it truly takes to bring an idea to life. The courses pushed me to approach problems creatively, communicate clearly, and build solutions with both strategy and empathy. The collaborative projects and mentorship I received gave me confidence in navigating uncertainty—skills that have stayed with me throughout my journey.
A major part of that experience was the incredible professors and instructors I learned from. Their passion for entrepreneurship, their willingness to challenge us, and their genuine support played a crucial role in my growth. They created an environment where ideas were encouraged, curiosity was celebrated, and students felt motivated to push their limits. Their guidance was instrumental in helping me develop the mindset and skills I rely on in my career today.
What I valued most about ENTR was how the professors encouraged creativity, resilience, real-world thinking, and problem-solving. They didn’t just teach business concepts—they helped me develop the discipline, curiosity, adaptability, and entrepreneurial mindset that continue to shape my path and to grow in my entrepreneurship career. They taught me to see opportunity in challenges, to work effectively with diverse teams, and to prioritize purpose alongside performance. These lessons have been invaluable in my career path, where innovation, service, and human connection matter every day. I’m very grateful for the foundation the program—and its exceptional instructors—provided on my journey as an entrepreneur and the role it continues to play in my path as an entrepreneur.
From Kyle
The ENTR program helped me to learn a practical approach to business. The practicum portion in specific allowed me to network within real businesses to solve a tangible business issue.
Through this experience and through networking from case competitions I was able to apply and work for a fortune 500 company.
What makes the ENTR program truly effective are the teachers. Duane, Carlos and many other teachers in the ENTR program are more than educational instructors. To me they were my coaches and mentors. They taught me the fundamentals of Business and consulting that I use today.
