What is public relations? 

According to the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS), "Public relations is the strategic management of relationships between an organization and its diverse publics, through the use of communication, to achieve mutual understanding, realize organizational goals and serve the public interest." 

What is the Diploma in Public Relations?
The Diploma in Public Relations is a two-year diploma program consisting of 60 credits of coursework, half of which focus on public relations education, and half of which focus on business education and supporting courses from across the university.

Why should I choose this program?
The KPU PR Diploma is the only two-year public relations diploma program offered in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. We offer unrivalled experiential learning opportunities, co-op work terms, small classroom environments, and the one of the most flexible, ladderable and affordable PR programs in Canada.

How long will it take?
Students can complete the diploma in as little as two-years (possibly shorter if completing the diploma as part of another KPU undergraduate degree), students are welcome to complete the diploma at a pace and over a period of time that works for their lifestyle.

What are the estimated costs?
The estimated cost for completing the 60 credits of the PR Diploma is $9746.55 (does not include student health and dental plan or transit fees).

Where is the program offered?
PR Diploma courses are offered in all three semesters (Fall, Spring & Summer) at KPU’s Surrey and Richmond campuses.

What are the prerequisites?
The Melville School of Business Faculty's Admission Requirements, which consist of KPU's undergraduate English Proficiency Requirement, apply to this program.
