Description:
THIS WORKSHOP IS FOR KPU FACULTY ONLY
Join Amanda Grey in celebrating Open Education Week 2026!
Textbook costs are a significant barrier to student success, with many students delaying or skipping courses due to expense. Your mission, should you choose to accept it: find high-quality open educational resources to replace expensive textbooks and transform your course into a Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) experience for your students.
In this hands-on workshop, you'll embark on a quest through the world of OER repositories, learning to navigate open licensing, discover discipline-specific treasures, and evaluate resources for quality and accessibility. Armed with search strategies and supported by the KPU Library and Teaching and Learning Commons, you'll work with your own course in mind and leave with a curated collection of potential OER and a concrete action plan for achieving ZTC.
This event supports United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education by advancing transparent, ethical AI practices in educational publishing and strengthening accountability in the creation of accessible learning resources.
