Description:
This outdoor workshop invites participants to step back and spend time in nature at KPU Farm. Designed with neurodivergent experiences in mind, though relevant and open to all learners, participants will interact with the environment by sensory engagement, pattern-finding, nature journaling, movement, and self-regulation. Through guided discussions, reflection prompts will connect these experiences to classroom and work environments to help participants recognize how environmental design and sensory awareness impact neurodivergent (and all) learners. Participants will gain insight and awareness on how different people interact with the same environment in different ways, and how this awareness can be transferred to supporting inclusive teaching and learning spaces.
Note: we will walk ~3 minutes from KPU Richmond to KPU Farm.
