The Career Development Centre (CDC) is thrilled to announce the great success of the recent Co-op Awards 2024 celebration held on February 14. This was a momentous occasion where the KPU community came together in person to celebrate the first-ever in-person Co-op Awards hosted by the Career Development Centre. The event took place at the Indigenous Gathering Place, which added a special touch to this significant occasion. We would like to express our gratitude to our friends from Indigenous Services for providing us with the space for this wonderful event!

A total of 14 remarkable students were honoured with 4 Co-op awards:

Co-operative Education Achievement Award, awarded to one outstanding Co-op student

  • Taylor Im, Diploma in Computer Aided Design & Drafting

Bill & Benita Francis Award, awarded to one Melville School of Business Co-op student

  • Gilles Kriekemans, Diploma in Accounting 

EC Managed IT Award, awarded to one BTECH or CISY Co-op student

  • Rajmale Kaur, Diploma in Computer Information Systems 

Melville School of Business Award, awarded to 11 Melville School of Business Co-op students

  • Miranda Treloar, BBA in Accounting 
  • Sanjampreet Kaur, BBA in Accounting 
  • Vishrav Bhateja, BBA in Marketing Management 
  • Rajandeep Kaur, BTech in Information Technology 
  • Mehak, BTech in Information Technology 
  • Shamaela Pervez, BBA in Human Resources Management

These exceptional individuals not only displayed academic excellence but also made meaningful contributions to their communities and workplaces, truly embodying the spirit of KPU.

As part of the celebration, students were able to meet with their fellow peers, Co-op faculty, and the Career Development Centre team to receive their award cheques in person. The Melville School of Business and representatives from Student Awards and Financial Assistance also joined the celebration, highlighting the collaborative spirit that defines KPU's success. This added a personal touch to the event and made it more memorable for everyone involved.
