Statement from the KPU Board Chair

Erin Barnes, Chair of the Kwantlen Polytechnic University Board of Governors, this morning (March 6, 2026) issued the following statement:

"Effective today, President Bruce Choy’s employment at KPU has terminated for reasons which will remain confidential. The Board of Governors will commence a search for a new President imminently.

"As noted on February 23, Dr. Diane Purvey is currently serving as Acting President with the Board of Governors’ thanks and appreciation.

"We also thank KPU faculty, staff and administration for their ongoing support and for continuing to provide students with an exceptional learning experience during this time of transition."
