KPU students and faculty are invited to participate in a voluntary focus group that will take the form of a circle process exploring perspectives and experiences related to restorative justice (RJ) and academic integrity at KPU. There will be a separate student focus group and a separate faculty focus group. The goal of this circle is to gather insights that may inform future initiatives, training, or policy development related to restorative justice.
Student participants will receive a $50 KPU bookstore gift card and will also be entered into a draw to win a $100 VISA Gift Card (see Rules and Regulations here)
Voluntary Participation
Your participation in this focus group is entirely voluntary. You may choose not to participate, decline to respond to any circle prompt, or withdraw from the circle at any time without consequence or explanation.
Informed Consent
By choosing to participate, you are acknowledging that:
- You understand the purpose of the circle;
- You have had the opportunity to ask questions about the process;
- You are participating of your own free will.
Confidentiality
To create a safe and respectful space, we ask all participants to keep the identity and contributions of others in the circle confidential. The session may be recorded for note-taking and analysis purposes, but no personally identifying information will be included in any summaries, reports, or presentations. Responses will be anonymized, and only aggregated findings will be shared.
Your name or specific affiliation will not be linked to any of the insights or feedback provided.
Data Use
The information collected will be used solely for educational, research, or program development purposes within the context of restorative justice at KPU. Data will be securely stored and accessible only to the project team.
What to expect
- To sit in a circle of 6-10 other students or faculty for 60-90 minutes either in person or virtually (October, 2025)
- Right to pass and listen only
- The invitation to share openly about your thoughts and experiences in relation to restorative justice and academic integrity at KPU
