Areas of Interest

My first experience in post-secondary was as a KPU student. After studying cell and molecular biology and chemistry, I began an almost decade long career in radiochemistry for the nuclear medicine program at TRIUMF, UBC. Gaining valuable work experience in a lab setting and the practical skills that come along with it, further graduate studies in science education brought me back to KPU as a lab instructor. My work experience and education has shaped my teaching philosophy to be centered upon experiential learning with reflective practice. Teaching a variety of labs from introductory biology to cell biology to ecology to brew science, my aim is for students to gain hands on experience and a transferrable skill set that will ultimately support them to be strong members of the workforce.
