Job Description

Swick’s Landscaping is an established owner-operated landscaping company passionate about designing, installing, and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces using environmentally responsible practices. We’re hiring Skilled Technician's to join our Landscape Maintenance Division for the upcoming season, with year-round work available. Our projects include mid to high-end residential homes, strata properties, and commercial sites throughout Metro Vancouver and surrounding areas. Winter work (ice & snow services) may also be available for the right candidate. 

The right candidate will have experience in landscape maintenance and enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions. You work efficiently, take pride in details, and show up with a professional attitude. You are dependable, honest, and can work independently or lead a small crew as needed. You are comfortable interacting with clients onsite when required.

General duties may include: 

  • Lawn and garden maintenance on residential/strata/commercial sites 
  • Fine/detail work including edging and bed maintenance 
  • Pruning, trimming, and seasonal cutbacks 
  • Installing soil, mulch, and plantings (as needed) 
  • Fertilizing, aerating, liming, and basic turf care 
  • Equipment operation and daily equipment/tool care Site clean-up, debris removal, and disposal 
  • Driving/maintaining a company vehicle (for qualified candidates) 
  • Basic site administration (tracking materials/products used, purchases, notes) 
  • Crew support/coordination, including clocking in/out and reporting completed work to management 

You may work independently or with a small crew. This role includes responsibility for tools/equipment and directing site activities when acting as crew lead. A company vehicle may be available for the right candidate. For this role, candidates are expected to have basic hand tools and personal PPE. Some PPE items will be provided. To be considered, you should have:

  • Previous experience in landscape maintenance, lawn care, gardening, or horticulture Experience with hedging, pruning, and plant care 
  • Confidence safely using landscape maintenance equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, etc.) 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work at a steady pace 
  • Ability to work independently and support/guide team members on site 
  • Driver’s license and clean abstract (asset but not required) 
  • Comfort driving company trucks and trailers (asset) 
  • Horticulture certification or interest in obtaining industry training
