Tiffany M., Product Design
Working on this project showcased huge learning curves filled with ups and downs, but also a lot of growth and lessons learned. One of the biggest challenges was juggling everything at once and meeting deadlines, especially managing my time between research, designing, and assembling everything. There were moments when things didn’t go as planned, such as when the prototypes were not built the way I imagined them to be. Whether it was technical issues, limited resources, or just the stress of a tight deadline, those moments taught me how to adapt and think creatively under pressure. Talking to real users for this project made a huge difference and helped me learn immensely about the emotional and physical sides of trauma paraplegia. It reminded me that good design isn’t just about how something looks or works in theory, but how it fits into someone’s real, everyday life. There was a lot of going back and forth between prototyping and the drawing board because a lot of things needed constant tweaking as new research was found. In the end, this project challenged me, but it also pushed me to grow.
