Visa Information:

Visas will be requested by UPC and processed by the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The process, once all documents have been submitted, may take from 30 to 45 business days to be completed by the Ministry. Once the corresponding code is provided, UPC will contact foreign institutions indicating that students may pick up their visas. Students must contact the Peruvian General Consulate nearest to the city where their home institution is located and confirm the documents they will need to submit in order to pick up the visa. The cost of a Peruvian student visa is approximately US$25.00.

In order to process visas, the following documents are mandatory:

  1. Presentation letter from home institution stating semester abroad at UPC, academic program they are registered in at their home institution and with institutional letterhead.
  2. Copy of valid passport
  3. Copy of flight tickets and/or reservations
  4. International insurance policy with coverage in Peru: this policy must state the students name and provide coverage for the period of time they will be in Peru.
  5. Document evidencing economic solvency while the student is staying in Peru.

If any of these documents are incorrect or missing from student files, the visa process will be observed and delayed.

Institution Transfer Credit Database:

Transfer credit equivalency shown in the table below is from past assessments done. The following history indicates how a class has been previously assessed but is not necessarily the only way that a class can come back to KPU. The equivalency is subject to change over time with new assessments of the transfer credit needed to be done through a Learning Agreement and Transfer Credit Memo process. This is done for Study Abroad students going abroad through an exchange program when the new course outline of the foreign course is received and assessed by KPU faculty and OREG for transfer back to KPU. Also, availability and access to classes at the partner institution is subject to change.

If you have any questions about how courses from abroad could come back and aid for your program at KPU, please contact an academic advisor of your program and discuss more with them.

If you have questions on this transfer credit process for study abroad exchange purposes to partner Universities and for participation in a Study Abroad program email internationalprograms@kpu.ca and you can make an appointment with a Study Abroad Coordinator.
