The annual Youth Train in Trades Transition Conference at KPU is intended to provide participants with information and skills to support their transition from High School to their Trades program at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Since 2012, The Learning Centres at KPU have provided incoming Trades students transition events to support their success. These activities occur in the third and fourth week of January each year.

This conference is designed as a social and academic introduction to the KPU learning environment. The participants are high school students who are taking trades training but still remaining a student in their own high school and gaining credit in two places: high school and KPU. The KPU environment is very different from what is experiences in high school because it is an adult learning environment with increased responsibility for personal choices and actions. Our purpose is to facilitate student success and provide the opportunity to  create some meaningful connections while with us.
