I have taught ceramics at NSCAD University, OCAD University, University of Regina, Sheridan College, Langara College and Capilano University. I have been teaching at Kwantlen Polytechnic University since Fall 2014.
I have taught workshops, presented work in conferences and given lectures in Canada, USA, Australia, China and Taiwan. I was the recipient of the 2006 Winifred Shantz Award for Ceramics which funded my residency at Pottery Workshop in Jingdezhen, China in summer 2008. I have been a recipient of many Provincial and Canada Council Grants which not only have allowed me to do many creative art projects, but also to attend many artist residencies nationally and internationally.
I have participated in 20 solo exhibitions and over 150 group exhibitions in Canada, the United States, Hungary, Taiwan, Korea, China and Australia. My work is included in numerous public collections such as Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery, Saskatchewan Arts Board, Surrey Art Gallery, Darts Hill Garden, Medalta in the Historic Clay District, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, the Canada Council Art Bank (3 times/pieces), the Government of Ontario Art Collection, Mackenzie Art Gallery, the Burlington Art Gallery, and the WOCEK Icheon World Ceramic Centre in Korea, and it has been featured in Art in America, Ceramics Monthly, Ceramic Review and Ceramics Art & Perception.
I have been serving as a board member for North West Ceramic Foundation and have been an active member of the Fraser Valley Potters Guild Association since 2014. The students and I participated in the Rockfish project with the Vancouver Aquarium in 2018-2019. Connecting well with the community locally, provincially, nationally and internationally helps my students to make connections within the ceramic community, too.
