This engaging hands-on program introduces youth to the Automotive, Carpentry, Plumbing, and Millwright/Industrial Mechanic trades. Participants will explore foundational trade concepts, learn the safe use of industry-standard tools, and complete practical projects designed to build confidence, problem-solving abilities, and technical skills.

Through interactive activities, students will discover how skilled trades shape the communities around us, with projects that incorporate sustainability, innovation, and an appreciation for the local environment. Topics include workplace safety, measurements and trades mathematics, basic tool handling, internal combustion engines, automotive fundamentals, electricity and wiring, water pressure and flow systems, and troubleshooting mechanical systems.

The week begins with introductions, program orientation, and essential safety training before participants rotate through a variety of skilled trades. Guided by experienced instructors, campers will gain hands-on experience, explore real-world applications, and discover the rewarding career opportunities available in the skilled trades.

  2. Complete one registration per child. Each child must have a separate account under their own name.
  3. The Required Forms for learners under 17 years of age must be completed and submitted prior to the start of course or on the first day of course. Please email the completed form to CPS.Summercamps@kpu.ca.
