StrongerBC future skills grant

Get up to $3,500 in funding for eligible courses. The StrongerBC future skills grant provides eligible B.C. residents aged 19 and older with funding for short-term training at KPU. Whether you're looking to enhance your current skills, advance your career, explore new opportunities, or continue your professional development, the grant can help cover the cost of eligible courses.

The FSG program for 2026-2027 is now open for registration for course start dates between Sept 1, 2026 and Feb 26, 2027.  Instructions on how to apply are below.

How to Apply

  1. Check eligibility
    • Confirm you qualify for the grant
  2. Choose your course
    • Select a course from the list below
  3. Submit 2 required forms:
    1. Apply for the StrongerBC future skills grant through the BC Services Card portal
    2. Email your completed FSG intake form to cps@kpu.ca
  4. Wait for approval
    • We’ll review your application in 2–3 business days and email you next steps
  5. Register for your course
    • Only register once you receive your approval email

Eligibility

  • Must either have already graduated from Grade 12 (or equivalent) or at least 19 years old;
  • Must be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected Person entitled to study in Canada;
  • Must be a resident of British Columbia;
  • Must not be receiving, or entitled to receive, the benefit of funding towards the eligible fees provided through other grants, loans, scholarships or comparable funding programs; and
  • Must provide consent to collect and disclose personal information that is relevant to accessing the StrongerBC future skills grant to the Province of British Columbia and KPU.
