Entrance Package Requirements
Once you have applied to KPU, you will receive a link to upload the following components onto SlideRoom:
Part 01 | Current Resume/Curriculum Vitae
Outline any type of work experience or volunteer work you have done. Distinguish between paid work versus volunteer work.
- Provide dates, responsibilities, and names of organizations.
- Allowed Format: PDF
Part 02 | Letters of Reference
Aim for one academic and one personal or professional. A reference might be a teacher, coach, employer, supervisor, mentor, or other who can speak to your strengths, skills, and suitability to the program.
- Number of References: 2
- Allowed Format: PDF
- Reference information to be provided in the Letter
- Name of Referee
- Referee Title and Organization
- Contact Information (phone, email, and address)
- Relationship to the Applicant
Part 03 | Self-Assessment
A self-assessment summarizing the following:
- Who are you? What is your story?
- Why is this particular program for you?
- How would your prior experience contribute to the program and to your fellow classmates?
- What is your existing knowledge of technical apparel?
- What do you hope to gain from being in this program? Include your short and long-term goals.
The self-assessment can be submitted using one of the following formats:
Option 1: A video submission
- Must feature and be narrated by the applicant.
- 3-5 minutes, maximum 500MB
- Allowed Formats: .m4v, .mov, .mp4, .wmv, .flv, .asf, .mpeg, .mpg, .mkv, or a YouTube/Vimeo link.
Option 2: A PowerPoint or Prezi submission
Option 3: A written narrative as a PDF file (800-1000 words)

Interviews & Info Sessions
Successful applicants to the Technical Apparel Design program will be contacted for an in-person or remote interview. Receiving an interview invitation does not guarantee admission to the program.
We strongly recommend attending one of our Information Sessions. These sessions provide a great opportunity to learn more about our programs, hear from faculty, ask questions, and explore what’s possible at KPU.

Meet English Proficiency Requirement: Contact KPU Admissions if you need assistance with submitting official documents. If you are an international student, contact KPU International at international@kpu.ca. Please do not submit English Proficiency proof to SlideRoom.
Submit Entrance Package: After applying to KPU, you will receive a link to upload your Entrance Package onto the online submission portal, SlideRoom. Please ensure you have completed your online application on EducationPlannerBC and reviewed the requirements before submission. Note that a supplemental fee and data privacy consent are required by the portal.

Entrance Package & Portfolio Plagiarism Agreement
Entrance Package & Portfolio submissions for the Wilson School of Design, both written and creative, must be entirely original and completed solely by the applicant. If a project is added that was completed as part of a group, the applicant must explicitly outline it was completed in a group within their submission and give appropriate credit to each member. Plagiarism, including copying, altering, or reusing another individual’s work (written OR visual) in any medium and presenting it as your own, is strictly prohibited. Additionally, the use of generative AI tools is also strictly prohibited. Any submission caught containing plagiarism, including AI-generated content, will result in application removal and a ban on future applications to KPU.
