First Aid

First Aid Services are provided for students and staff at each of the campuses. Each First Aid provider is a fully qualified Occupational First Aid Attendant as required by WorkSafe BC Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

University employees must report work related injuries/illnesses to their supervisor and the designated first aid attendant. This will not only ensure that injuries are treated promptly but it will also ensure that injuries are documented.

It is important that you familiarize yourself with the location of the first aid rooms and how to summon first aid if needed.

Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) at KPU

KPU is committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy work and learning environment for our employees and students. KPU’s designated first aid attendants (Facilities Support Generalists) and Campus Fitness Centres are equipped with Automatic External Defibrillators or AEDs. AEDs are portable devices used to treat individuals experiencing a sudden cardiac arrest. Cardiac arrest is a failure of the heart’s electrical system causing it to stop. An AED can be used to restart the heart and potentially save a life.

In a sudden cardiac arrest emergency, time is of essence. Please   CALL 9-1-1 and contact KPU First Aid immediately.
