The KPU2050 Official Campus Plan has now been approved! On March 31st 2021, the Board of Governors unanimously approved KPU’s first Campus Master Plan. This exciting new Plan creates a vision for the physical development and growth of the Surrey, KPU Tech, Richmond and Langley campuses to the year 2050.

Please check out the KPU2050 Official Campus Plan here.

KPU2050 Campus Master Plan

Established in 1981 to serve the needs of the South Fraser region of British Columbia, KPU has grown to five campuses and offers more than 140 programs to about 20,000 students.

Going forward, KPU2050 will guide decision making over a thirty-year planning horizon, looking to the year 2050. It will inform the physical manifestation - our buildings, open spaces, and our movement patterns - of KPU's strategic and academic mission through growth and development of the Langley, Surrey, Tech, and Richmond campuses. As our campus at Civic Plaza only opened in 2019, it has not been included as part of the physical considerations outlined within the Plan – however, it will be subject to the Plan’s overall vision and principles.

Acknowledging our sustainability commitments and aspirations, the Plan will also identify recommendations that are intended to deliver a pathway towards carbon neutrality and a more sustainable and resilient future.

The Plan also outlines a set of Indigenous principles and recommendations that will inform how we think about our KPU campuses today and in the future in relation to the land, people, and activities that take place on them, and in doing so, deepen KPU’s efforts towards reconciliation.

KPU2050 was founded upon extensive engagement with the KPU community and our external stakeholders. We would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation and gratitude to all that participated in the planning process and to all who helped shape the future of KPU’s campuses.
