Kwantlen's jazzy summer camp for all ages

(METRO VANCOUVER, B.C.) Kwantlen Polytechnic University music department is hosting “Kwantlen Summer Jazz ‘09”—a music camp for students aged 14 years and up. As the only summer jazz camp in the Fraser Valley, this music camp gives students an opportunity to learn from jazz masters in a fun and interactive learning environment with other students with similar musical talents from across B.C.

“This is a great opportunity for all jazz enthusiasts to work with Canada's top jazz musicians in a great facility at Kwantlen's Langley Campus,” said David Proznick, camp coordinator. "This fun summer music experience has an ‘instrumental jazz focus’—we cover all aspects of learning about jazz and how to play this music. We work on developing skills that will lead to success not only in music but in all aspects of life.”

In the past three years, participation in Kwantlen’s summer jazz camp has risen steadily, including a significant number of students who have attended every year. It has also attracted and inspired numerous students to enrol in university-level music programs.
