KPU Eagles women and men's soccer host 2015 Player Identification Camps

Metro Vancouver.....The KPU Eagles Department of Athletics & Recreation, along with women's soccer head coach Julie King and men's soccer head coach Srdjan Djekanovic, are pleased to announce the dates and registration details for the program's 2015 Player Identification Camps.

Coach King and the women's coaching staff will host their camp on Thursday, February 12th 2015 from 4:00pm-6:00pm while Coach Djekanovic and the men's coaching staff will host their camp on Monday and Tuesday, March 2nd-3rd 2015. Both camps will be hosted at the Eagles home turf at Newton Athletic Park in Surrey, BC.

The purpose of these camps are to identify any prospective Grade 11 and 12 students or any prospective or current KPU students who are interested in playing interuniversity/collegiate varsity soccer at the PACWEST CCAA levels for the KPU Eagles. All participants must register online through the information below. A completed waiver and $20.00 fee will be due at the field at the start of the camp.

KPU Eagles women's soccer
The KPU Eagles women’s soccer team celebrated a successful growing season in 2014/15, which is the first year under the direction of Coach King. The Eagles regular season record improved to 4-5-6 (18 points) over last year’s 3-7-4 (13 points). KPU also earned a berth to Provincials to finish the year off with a 0-2 post-season record and fourth place in the PACWEST in the regular and post-season. Coach King was awarded the 2014/15 PACWEST women's soccer Coach of the Year award by her coaching peers.

Please pre-register for the women's soccer camp online by filling out the webform and waiver (see links below) prior to Friday, February 6th 2015. The completed waiver* and payment of the $20.00 fee must be submitted to our KPU Eagles staff at the field before warm-ups in order for you to participate.
*Please note that players 18 years of age and under are required to have their waiver signed by their parent or guardian.

KPU Eagles men's soccer
The KPU Eagles men’s soccer team enjoyed a stronger 2014/15 season under second-year head coach Srdjan Djekanovic and maintained a CCAA National Top 15 ranking for all seven weeks of regular season play; their peak was 10th place. The Eagles regular season record improved to 5-7-3 over last year’s 3-8-3. KPU advanced to Provincials after placing third in the PACWEST regular season and ended the tournament at 0-2 for fourth place overall.

*Please note that the men's camp requires participants to attend BOTH nights.

The KPU Eagles Department of Athletics & Recreation enters its 14th season of interuniversity competition. The Eagles are members of the PACWEST conference and play in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) with 100 student-athletes participating on eight varsity teams in men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, badminton and golf. KPU athletics plays its home games at the Eagles’ Nest (Surrey Campus), Northview Golf & Country Club, Newton Athletic Park, all located in Surrey, BC and the Ace Badminton Centre in Richmond, BC.  The Eagles are active in the conference with staff members on various advisory committees and competing to host both provincial and national championships. The student-athletes are mainly from the lower mainland but KPU’s rosters have included student-athletes from North America, South America, Asia and Europe.
