Rabia Khan, our Mandarin 1100 student, won the Best Pronunciation Award (certificate and $100 cash) together with her friend, Caleb Chuang from Langara College, at the 2021 BC 'Chinese Bridge' Mandarin Singing Contest for University Students submitted online on November 16, 2021. They sang in Mandarin, "A Whole New World" from Disney's Aladdin. There were 27 submissions from post-secondary institutions across BC. This is the 11th year this unique learning event has been held in BC since 2009 (with a hiatus in 2020). This is also the first time the contest was held online due to COVID-19. KPU Mandarin students have been actively involved ever since its inception and have been winning prizes at these fun events.
