Creative Connections 2025
The event will showcase 15 programs offered through the Faculty of Arts and the Wilson School of Design.

Discovering creative career pathways is the focus of an event coming to Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) on Nov. 7.

Held at KPU Richmond, Creative Connections is an opportunity to explore a variety of creative programs at KPU, participate in hands-on workshops and activities, connect with alumni working in creative industries and more. Attendees can also enter for a chance to win prizes, including a $500 gift basket filled with premium art and design supplies.

“We look forward to welcoming creative minds to our incredible campus, and offering an in-depth look at the diverse programs that the Faculty of Arts and Wilson School of Design have to offer,” says Carley Hodgkinson, Dean of KPU’s Wilson School of Design, pro tem. “Through info sessions, hands-on activities, and meaningful conversations with our faculty, students and alumni, guests can see how an education in design and arts can open doors to rewarding and impactful careers in B.C.’s thriving creative and applied design industries.”

The event will showcase 15 programs offered through the Faculty of Arts and the Wilson School of Design including Fashion & Technology, Creative Writing, Graphic Design for Marketing, Fine Arts, Interior Design, and Advanced 3D Animation & 3D Modelling. Attendees interested in learning more about specific programs can sit in on 30-minute information sessions scheduled throughout the day.

"B.C. and the lower mainland in particular are home to exceptional creative industries, and the Faculty of Arts prepares students precisely for these careers,” says Dr. Shelley Boyd, Dean of KPU’s Faculty of Arts. “Creative Connections is the annual event that highlights our creative programs from creative writing and music to the visual arts and entertainment arts.

“We warmly encourage aspiring artists, future students, and their families to come to our Richmond campus on Nov. 7 to learn about these disciplines, speak to our faculty and current students, and discover the diverse career achievements of our talented alumni."

The event also features a series of “Portfolio Pitstops,” where attendees can receive personalized feedback on their portfolios, writing samples, design projects and artwork.

Creative Connections will be held on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at KPU Richmond, 8771 Lansdowne Rd. The event is free and open to the public, but guests are asked to register in advance.
