Mika Mokkonen

I am an evolutionary biologist with broad training in genetics, ecology, physiology and human health. I have over 20 years of research experience and 15 years of mentoring student research. Since 2018, I have been teaching a variety of courses at KPU in the life sciences. Currently, I am a team leader in the Applied Genomics Centre, where my recent research has focused on different topics such as pathogen detection and aging. I am passionate about teaching and strongly believe that the experiential learning opportunities in our Biology and Health Science programs are key determinants of future success.
