Do you have an employment or volunteer opportunity to post to KPU students and alumni?

Our online job posting system called Career Connection allows you to reach over 11,000 students and alumni registered on the system who are actively looking for work.

Some of the benefits of using our system include:

How to Register

  1. Go to the Career Connection login page.
  2. Select Sign Up to register your company; or select Sign Up and Post Job, if you are ready to post the job.
  3. Fill out the form with your company information and click Submit. Within 1-2 business days, you will receive a Welcome email with a link to set your password.
  4. If you have not received this email, check your junk folder and add careerconnection@kpu.ca to your contact list.
  5. In the Welcome email, click Set Your Password.
  6. In the dialogue box, enter your new password and click Save.
  7. Ensure your contact profile is complete and click Submit.

How to Post a Job:

  1. Log in to Career Connection
  2. In the left navigation bar, click the Job Postings tab.
  3. Click Post a Job.
  4. Complete the form with your job posting information and click Submit. Allow 1-2 business days for approval of your posting.
  5. If you're making changes to your existing job posting, click the Job Postings tab. A list of job titles will be generated. Choose the job that you would like to edit.

Posting Policies

Full Time

  • At least 35 hours per week
  • Paid position
  • Permanent

Part Time

  • Less than 35 hours per week
  • Paid position
  • Flexible schedules
  • Permanent

Co-op

  • A full-time position with a minimum of 420 hours in a four-month term
  • Paid position
  • Provides the student with relevant work experience within one of KPU's eligible co-op programs

Apprenticeships

  • Required for certified trades
  • Typically assessed by number of hours completed

Temporary

  • Short-term duration or contract
  • Paid position
  • Typically has an approximate end date

Volunteer

Available to non-profit organizations, recognized KPU student groups, and KPU departments/Faculties

  • No more than 15 hours per week, with the exception of special events
  • Emphasis on networking, learning, or skills development

Work Study (On Campus)

Available to KPU departments/Faculties only

  • No more than 15 hours per week
  • Position is partially funded by KPU Student Awards and Financial Assistance
  • Must be posted by KPU staff, faculty, or administration
  • Must include an approved BCGEU job description
  • Must clearly indicate the qualifications for a Work Study position

Student Assistant (On Campus)

Available to KPU departments/Faculties only

  • No more than 15 hours per week
  • Position is funded by the area posting the opportunity
  • Must be posted by KPU staff, faculty, or administration
  • Must include an approved BCGEU job description

Practicum

KPU Career Development Services maintains an open employer recruitment practice that aligns with current national and provincial career centre practices, the B.C. Ministry of Labour's Employment Standards Act, and the Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers (CACEE) position on unpaid internships.
